Installation Guide

Simple steps to get Cura Slicer running on your system

🪟 Windows Installation

  1. Download the Windows installer (.exe file) from the download section above
  2. Locate the downloaded file in your Downloads folder
  3. Double-click the installer to begin the installation process
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions and accept the license agreement
  5. Choose your installation directory or use the default location
  6. Wait for the installation to complete
  7. Launch Cura Slicer from your Start Menu or Desktop shortcut
  8. Complete the initial setup wizard by selecting your 3D printer model

🍎 macOS Installation

  1. Download the macOS disk image (.dmg file) from above
  2. Open the downloaded .dmg file
  3. Drag the Cura Slicer application to your Applications folder
  4. If prompted about security, go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy and click "Open Anyway"
  5. Launch Cura Slicer from your Applications folder
  6. Complete the first-run setup wizard
  7. Select your 3D printer from the list of supported printers

Note for Apple Silicon Users: Cura Slicer runs natively on both Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) and Intel-based Macs.

🐧 Linux Installation

  1. Download the AppImage file from the Linux download section
  2. Open your terminal and navigate to the download directory
  3. Make the AppImage executable: chmod +x Cura-*.AppImage
  4. Run the AppImage: ./Cura-*.AppImage
  5. Alternatively, double-click the AppImage file from your file manager
  6. Complete the initial setup and select your printer

Package Manager Options: Cura Slicer may also be available through your distribution's package manager (apt, dnf, pacman) or via Snap/Flatpak.
